Actress-turned-politician Jaya Prada, who will produce Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s next film.

“I have met Jaya a couple of times and each time she insisted that I make a film with her, or rather a film produced by her. So, I finally thought of making a film on my own story Rahasyamoy. I had written it a long time ago. I hadn’t thought of making a film on it back then. But now I feel the story can be adapted…. Jaya may also do a role,” says Dasgupta.

The new, untitled film is about a middle-aged man’s futile efforts to communicate. It is about a simple man who wants to tell his stories to others but lands in trouble. He is separated from his wife and tries to find out about her secret life. He also has the power to recall his past life. But he is a failure and nobody responds to his feelings…

The new film, under the Rainbow Jaya Prada Entertainmentz banner, will roll on the floors in April.
