Thikana Rajpath
Thikana Rajpath directed by Konoj Das has a bold and new concept for Bengali cinema . This is a story of a surrogate mother.
A childless couple ( Rajatava Dutta and Indrani Halder ) hire their maid ( Debosree Roy ) to produce a baby for them in exchange of money.
The storyline has been adopted from Salman - Rani - priety starrer ‘chori chori chupke chupke’ but claimed to be represented differently.
I agree with few of the readers and the critics. thikana Rajpath truly stands out, but silently and without much commotion. I was fan of Indrani and after this film I adore her. Looking forward to see this in some US cables, i feel bengali & Calcutta girls of US should see this. One of the simple & best stuff on surrogagcy as a subject.Thikana rajpath would create waves maybe after 10 years. A big cheers to the cast and the director along with the young producers Sumay and his partner.
Just did a quick check amongst bengali film lovers. This is a commercial film with substance and simple meaning. This also talks about humanity keeping surrogacy as a bold theme. Sumay Banerjee’s Thikana Rajpath and its brilliant casting seems one of the best films of this 2010 year. Am waiting for interviews though…..
Woh surrogacy and India !! Seems calcutta and bengali films taking a big bold step. We overseas bengalis from US & UK are interested about this type of films. We are looking out for the CD, not getting it. Hearing a lot about the new producer /writer - Sumay and music director alokesh. These are the new generation film makers who would give directions to new movie lovers. Ha read few works of sumay in the past which seemed interesting too.

Agree with Shreya, this isa must watch for bengali or indian women, both young and of all ages. Pls send an interview of he new film maker duo alokes and sumay.
I would rate this film highly inspite of a lack of glamour and absence of a hero. amust watch for women specially for indrany’s role. Am looking for some info on the makers namely - sumay, kanoj and alokesh.
INdrani halder has done superb , and she was looking like beauty. This is really agood film on surrogacy and the pains of mother. Had seen it in theatre now watched again sometime back in the Channel Sony 8. Lovely film thanks to the new director - Kanoj Das, and the writer producer - Sumay Banerjee & Alokesh. This is probably the one of the very good bengali films this year. But my question is will the audinece & tollygunje appreciate? let us see :
Great acting by the duo Indrani & Debashree Roy. Indrani is becoming better every year.
Highly recommend the movie and may be the best in 2010 year. The The directioon should have been better. The Music by alokesh & story from Sumay is defenitely has an unconventional theme.
The stiry line has nothing to do with the salman - Rani starrer, Its quite different. But Surrogacy should have been depicted and explained well, it required a little better treatment. Feel Firdous had no role & was not required. Over all a good experience and I agree with shreya this could be one of the best in the year 2010. defenitely bold step by the actors and producers to do this type of a ‘hatke’ film. I want to read his stuff and know some more about the new producer Sumay.
I say this film too. Nice write ups by film lovers. But we should be more critical about the film on director and producers.
All the actors specialy beautiful indrani Haldar has done a fantastic job. But very making is not ok. a great concept and thoght and very bold ldly taken up and executed by the new producers Alokes and sumay banerjee. But stil alot expected from thikana rajpath. I have read about this new dul and am loking for an exclusive interview of the team alokesh , Kanoj, Debashree, Indrani & Sumay. (This is defenitely better than jeet, prasenjit, mithun types.)
Saw it again in Channel8 - Sony. May be this is the best film of Tolly in 2010. Music and making could be better . Still my congratulations to lead cast - Director Kanoj and the nw kid writer & producer - Sumay & Alokesh. Its Superb and best of 2010.
Saw the film, nice simple one. This is the first one addressing the Surrogacy & surrogate mother hood in Bengali movie and imbalance of monye and children. Lovely work by Indrani and Debesh, this could be the best one in 2010 too. Looking forward for some write ups and interview of Indrani & the new makers , writer Producers - Sumay & Alokes.
Seen Thikana Rajpath, its simple film with an underlying bold thought and theme. Personally feel this film could have been made better directed & scripted, but my sincere thanks to the makers Director - Kanoj Das and young producer/writer Sumay Banerji. I feel Tollygunje needs more of this type of unconventional commercial ones. Indrany & Debashree played key roles and did justice to their name. [ Dil mange more]
Yes Shrea ! good film after some time. A simple but very daring attempt. My sincere thank sto the actors (specially Indrani) and the Director and Producers.
The film has been released in Calcutta. Saw the film, the team Sand Stone and director has done their bit to depict the surrogacy as subject.
Deboshree & Indrani is brilliant and have done justice to their roles. Our kudos to the young new producer - Sumay for going ahead and making this kind of different bold film.

True aleek ! Surrogacy is new and rarely heard in India ,specially in kolkata. In that respect its bold and interesting film.
Aleek , the makers are the new writer cum producers Sumaoy Banerji & Alokes Mitro. Seems its the first film of this young guys. With little looking around could gather the film maker producers are from kolkata and looking to make some quality commercial films ahead.
Surrogacy is still not accepted by us. We Could read some writing on this controversial Debashree & Indrani starrer new filmThinkana Rajpath plus followoed by write ups in the net. But I am still to be convinced by this bold film which I feel is ahead of time. So we are waiting for the release & my best wishes to the writer producers & yooung duo Sumay & Alokes. But final result would be on the release to be sent by the mass audience of Bengal (not by Intellectual critics).
We Have read about this movie thikana rajpath in the papers. Its produced by Sand stone Comm. A very bold and innovative film by the new moview makers and Producers duo Sumay Banerji & alokesh Mitro. Quite a new & bold but little ahed of time in Calcutta by Sand stone.

The new comer Sumay film makers n writer have done a bold and difficult job, get going Sumay & Alokesh. Indarni is looking fata fati and lovely casting. (saw the poster of Thikana Rajpath during Puja’s)
Agree with anuradha, its a difficult but vibrant subject on Motherhood. Indrani halder is finally doing justice to her acting talent. Would request the new moviemaker & producers - Sumay n Alokesh to keep this kind of challenging commercial movies with same casting.We want more write ups on the Thikana Rajpath & Indrani too.

The film makers Sumay & Alokesh may be has attempted something bold & different, but we need to see if Bengal is ready. Heard its a pure commercial film so lets wait & watch.
Indrani is fantastic and lovely cast. Seems after sometime a movie for women of all section and age of the bengal. We crave for this films with different tastes. Read some articles on Sandstone and Thikana rajpath, a challenging attempt, that is what I can say.

Indrani is looking cute & nice here. Good comeback ! Modern bengali women can look up to her and Deboshree as role models. PLus both would be working probably first time together in Thikana rajpath.
Read the story and some articles on this movie. Superb stuff and great storyline by the new Producer /moviemakers Sumay & Alokesh. Indrani, Debashree & surrogate motherhood would be interesting and firebrand cocktail. This might create some controversy and discussion in bengal.
The movie is under making, read that Indrani & debashree first time together. We would wait for the release and thank the producers for coming up with this type of story & bold film.

This movie seems to be under hush hush and quitly made. Is because of the theme which seems delicate & controversial. But the casting of Debashree & Indrani with Rajatava, Debesh Roy & Firdous seems a commercial film. But is Tolly mature enough to handle this type of bold movie?

Very new & interesting theme, read the preview of the movie on Cal ONline think this is the first one in Bengali on surrogate motherhood. But Tollywood I think is matured for this type of concept. The producers Sumay Banerjee & Alokesh has taken a controversial project.
This is too much - ’surrogate motherhood’. Dont think we are ready for this kind of controversial films. Want to know some more about the movie thikana rajpath and its makers.
