Uttam Kumar honoured by postal department

Uttam Kumar Stamp
A metro railway station renamed after him , and now Mahanayak Uttam Kumar was honoured by postal department of India with the issue of postage stamps posthumously. The stamps were released by West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi at Uttam Mancha at Kolkata, organised by the Bengal Film Journalists Association.
The programme was attended by former Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, who had initiated the move to get the stamp approved by the department of posts, actresses Supriya Chowdhury and Madhabi Mukherjee, singer Pandit Ajay Chakraborty.
